CLASSIC CARL: this drink is inspired by the classic Ramos Gin Fizz. Invented in New Orleans in 1888, this drink was meant to be shook for ten full minutes! This used to require a line of nine bartenders who passed the cup from to another to make sure they kept the shake going. The drinks creator was a man who referred to himself Henry “C” Ramos. The “C” is for Carl.
CHERRY BABY: did you know that the original formula for Coca-Cola contained cocaine? In 1885 John Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta Georgia, included several grams of the drug into the soft drink. By the turn of the 19th century all of the cocaine had been removed from the beverage. (So they say)
GOLD ZINGER: this drink pays homage to the Original spider, which was a mixture of brandy and ginger beer. Although it’s unknown exactly when or where the drink was invented the drink is known to be a favourite of the miners during the Victoria Gold Rush.
IF YOU LIKE PIÑA COLADA: legend has it that this drink was invented in the early 1800s by a pirate from Puerto Rico named Roberto Cofesí. He hoped the tasty treat would keep his crew so infatuated with the clever combination of pineapple and coconut that they would ditch their plans of mutiny. History suggests his plan worked!
